Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bob-O-Job platform ("Platform"), operated by Bob-O-Job Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Platform Overview

Bob-O-Job is a marketplace that connects customers ("Customers") seeking local services with independent service providers ("Jobbers"). Bob-O-Job is not a party to any service agreement between Customers and Jobbers. We act solely as an intermediary.

3. User Accounts

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

4. Jobber Eligibility

Jobbers must pass identity verification, provide accurate skills and qualification information, and maintain appropriate insurance for the services they offer. Bob-O-Job reserves the right to suspend or remove any Jobber who fails to meet our standards.

5. Payments & Escrow

Customer payments are held in escrow by our payment processor (Stripe) and released to Jobbers only after the Customer confirms job completion. Platform fees are deducted automatically. All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

6. Cancellations

Customers may cancel a job before a Jobber has been matched at no charge. Post-match cancellations may incur a cancellation fee of up to 20% of the estimated job value. Jobbers who frequently cancel may have their accounts suspended.

7. Disputes

In the event of a dispute, Bob-O-Job will act as mediator. Our decision in dispute resolution is final. Refunds are issued at our sole discretion.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not: circumvent the Platform to avoid fees; post false or misleading information; harass or harm other users; use the Platform for illegal purposes; or attempt to reverse-engineer the Platform.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, copy, and software, is owned by Bob-O-Job Ltd and protected by UK and international intellectual property law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bob-O-Job Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

Insurance & Liability

Jobber Insurance

All Jobbers on the Bob-O-Job platform are required to hold appropriate public liability insurance for the services they offer. Proof of insurance is reviewed during the onboarding process.

Platform Liability

Bob-O-Job acts as a marketplace and is not responsible for the quality of work performed by Jobbers. However, our escrow system means customers only pay when satisfied, and our dispute resolution process provides a fair remedy when things go wrong.

Recommended Coverage

We recommend customers with high-value properties consider their own home insurance coverage. Bob-O-Job's escrow and dispute process covers platform-mediated transactions.

Claims

If you believe you have suffered loss as a result of a Jobber's actions, please raise a dispute through the Platform and we will assist in facilitating a resolution. For unresolved insurance claims, please contact the Jobber's insurer directly.
